The Intex Krystal Clear Saltwater System with ECO uses a two-stage method to sanitize your above ground pool. First, the system uses the step of electrolysis to generate chlorine from using environmentally friendly natural salt. The titanium electrolytic cell converts the sodium chloride into natural form of chlorine. The second stage is Electrocatalytic Oxidation (ECO) where it splits water molecules into highly powerful oxidants that destroy organic contaminants such as bacteria and algae. This process of electrocatalytic oxidation helps reduce the need for chlorine up to 60 percent.
